I can see the larger picture, and this helps me avoid accidents, follow directions in traffic, problem solving that no one else sees, and feeling the pain of others after rapidly seeing their painful social interactions. My negative aspects is feeling both good and bad emotions so deeply. It's difficult to regroup after a negative or even a positive event.

So... IT. Gotcha. Now if I could just focus long enough to not ditch my studies after getting 1/2 way through. It is medication or die. I say this because some folk have severe ADHD, not a small amount for those who function like normal people(no this is not an excuse).

I do believe the doctors did a great job diagnosing me with other conditions that were more present at the time, seeing as I did go through trauma at the time, however no questions were asked regarding my childhood and somehow they may have overlooked it or weighed the benefits vs risks as I just stopped using substances 10 years prior. As a child I was "out of it" or "in your face" always looking for adventure and labelled as stupid or disruptive. It was especially bad in high school but somehow attributed to other things that may have been going on in my family life, but self-medicating with drugs always made me feel more in control of myself in a strange way. When I stopped and tried a run at a normal life, there has always been a struggle. I worked on and off, did my best raising my child, but felt overwhelmed with juggling work and childcare. I was on anti-depressants for a while which helped me absorb the therapy, but just remember at work always annoying people, not grasping things, being very fidgety and need to move. I started stimulants and feel a noticeable difference as I can think properly and drive with more ease, but I'm not sure if I have ADHD my doctor says traits, but he is not a psychiatrist, is it possible I was misdiagnosed or have a dual diagnosis. I am trying to save up to see a psychologist, unfortunately the costs of very expensive and access to a psychiatrist is rare.

If you take Adderall daily, ideally early in the morning you have nothing to worry about if you decide to have some drinks that night. The problem is drinking within 6 hours of taking it can have some consequences. Adderall and alcohol both use the same liver enzyme to digest, meaning its anyone's guess which one gaines priority and no matter what adderall will nullify the depressant effects of alcohol meaning you might not feel drunk or tipsy but you are and continuing to drink would be a mistake because when it hits you it HITS YOU. You'll be lucky to not black out and become vegetative

You need something in between sub and methadone. Some kind of a mild maintenance drug. SUBOXONE works but it's simply not strong enough to help the more severe casese. Methadone works..but the drug is so heavily restricted...especially in usa...that many people avoid it because of that

I definitely feel better driving while medicated. While unmedicated I can easily drift off into my thoughts which can be dangerous. While medicated I can actually focus on my driving for longer periods of time without drifting off into my mind. lol honestly though...the single best thing to happen for me as far as driving goes with my adhd...is gps/my phone.
